Gebr. Heinemann, a global leader in travel retail, was faced with the challenge of redesigning the mapping of excise duties as part of the introduction of SAP S/4HANA. The previous solution was no longer available and a powerful, future-proof solution was needed.
With the GQS@tax solution, Heinemann was able to ensure efficient and legally compliant processing of over 200,000 material movements per day – and all within a very tight timeframe of just ten months. A total of seven countries with up to eleven different tax types were integrated in order to meet the complex requirements.
A particular focus was on the integration of the EMCS interface, which is responsible for around 50% of the relevant documents, and the flexible handling of more than 70 combinations of tax types and regions.
